Brief History

Bethany Project started operating in 1995 and was registered with the Government of Zimbabwe in 1998; its registration number is PVO 2/98. Its niche is building the capacity of communities and families to care and support vulnerable children and youths below 25 years of age. In the year 2016 the organization’s programs benefitted 16 558 people, i.e, 1966 men, 2924 women, 5226 young-men and boys and 6442 young women and girls, indicating the organization‘s capacity "to reach at" scale. In 2017, Bethany Project’s programs benefitted 16 405 people (1959 men, 2639 women, 5732 boys and 6075 girls) in Zvishavane and Mberengwa Districts. The fact that 57% of its beneficiaries are women and girls indicates that they are at the centre of its work. Bethany Project has been supported by seven funding partners in the past 4 years.
